Welcome!
We hope that this site is informative and a place for teachers to access resources and strategies that can be implemented in the classroom. C. A. Gray's ESOL Department emphasizes social and academic language proficiency using WIDA's English Language Development Framework. Teachers can benefit from reading the framework and reviewing the Can Do Descriptor Charts for Grades 6-8 & Grades 9-12. English Learners are required to take the ACCESS 2.0 for ELLs each year. This standardized assessment assesses academic language tasks in the areas of reading, writing, listening, and speaking across the content areas of language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. Resources and practice assessments will be provided. Colquitt County Schools provides language services to qualifying students at each of our schools (K-12) through a system wide English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program. This program is funded through Title III, a federally funded program providing supplemental services. |
